This study aimed  to examine the significance of the “philosophical dialogue” throughout the history of liberal arts ducation at universities and to verify its practical effectiveness. In the analysis and codification of the students’ post-class comments, “new ideas of my own,” “feeling of value for dialogue,” “revaluing past experiences,” “suggestions for future life,” and “inspiration” were the most frequent concepts found. Accordingly, the knowledge of philosophy and the place of the “philosophical dialogue” valorize personal experiences in a new way, thereby making personal experiences capital for the creation of new knowledge and idea.
