The report outlines practical strategies to enhance the logical coherence of students’ English oral discourse during micro-debates. It introduces micro-micro-debates as routine activities, encouraging brief exchanges of opinions on debatable topics. In addition, prior to mini-debates, explicit instruction on logical claims was provided, using familiar topics like the preference between dogs and cats as examples. Text mining analysis of adjudicative remarks revealed that students utilize expressions like not, but, however, also, example, and base to clarify information relevance. Moreover, positive evaluations highlighted students’ incorporation of concrete examples based on factual information, such as Guinness World Record references. A comparison of 2022 and 2023 data describes shifts in characteristic terms, indicating nuanced changes in students’ discourse.
