The participants were divided into four groups based on the changes in the severity of the locomotive syndrome over time, and the factors that influenced the changes in the locomotive degree were examined.\nResults: The factors identified as the causes of locomotive syndrome in healthy individuals were as follows:（ 1） high lower leg circumference, high bone density, and insufficient nutritional intake and insufficient nutritional intake;（2） diminished physical functions, including reduced walking speed and increased stumble frequency; and （3）psychological factors assessed in the 36-Item Short Form Survey（ SF-36）, and（4） time spent on medical consultations and treatments. The factors that alleviated locomotive syndrome included （1） protein intake and （2） psychological factors assessed in the SF-36.\nConclusion: Mobility of community-dwelling elderly is influenced by aging, nutritional status, physical function, and psychological factors. Vegetable protein intake and psychological health may contribute to improvement.
