When Stensen dissected a head of a gigantic shark Carcalodon\nin Firenze, Italy, he noticed that the shark's teeth were very similar to Glossopetrae which were found in Malta. His work\non shark dissection revealed the origin of fossils in rock. Various descriptions have been written about the process he\nunderwent from his observation and dissection of the shark's head to the completion of his dissertation on geological aspects\nof fossilization. It is very important to describe the historical episode to cite original references.
