Fe (III)-deposit was heavilyaccumulated in the parvocellular part of the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus( HPV), where numerous glias werestained. Fe( III)-deposit heavily fi lled the cytosol and lysosomes of microglia-, oligodendrocyte- and astrocyte-like cells,while neurons contained only a small number of Fe( III)-laden lysosomes. Fine processes of Fe( III)- laden microglia- andoligodendrocyte-like cells closely ensheathed the cell body and proximal dendrites of neurons. Fe (III)-laden astrocytelikecells tightly enclosed the capillary wall. The magnocellular part of the HPV and the supraoptic nucleus were lessintensely stained than the parvocellular part of the HPV. The secretory axon terminals in the outer lamina of the medianeminence( ME) and the posterior pituitary including the Herring bodies contained Fe( III)-laden small lysosomes amongdensely aggregated secretory granules. The secretory axon terminals in the ME were tightly enclosed by heavily Fe(III)-laden processes of tanycyte. The heavily Fe( III)-laden pituicytes and interstitial, pericapillary phagocytes closelyapproached the secretory axon terminals in the posterior pituitary. Fe (II) was largely localized in the lysosomesthroughout the hypothalamo-neurohypophyseal system., 弘前医学. 60(1/2/3/4), 2009, p.63-76}, pages = {63--76}, title = {Nonheme-Iron Deposition in the Hypothalamo-Neurohypophyseal System of the Rat Brain}, volume = {60}, year = {2009} }
