When we examined whether enrolment in region-oriented subjects is raising awareness among students of local employment opportunities, we determined that workplace selection was influenced, to a certain degree, by participation in region-oriented subjects. In particular, weobserved the effect of expanding options for students who had moved from other areas for study.\n  However, such awareness of local job opportunities does not determine actual employment choice. Factors such as lack of demand for skilled labor and mismatch of supply and demand in the labor force related to the industry type, occupation, and working conditions need to be considered. This is not only a problem in terms of supplying the labor force but also in terms of demand.
