The researchers conducted a survey of firstyear university students in which they answered questions indicating their degree of motivation towards English language learning. Survey results were cross referenced with two sets of participants’ standardized test scores: one taken before the start of the semester, and one from the end of the first semester. While the researchers expected to find a positive correlation between motivation and improvement, the data collected did not reveal a positive relationship. However, analysis of the data did yield some useful insights, and implications for future study are discussed in the paper’s conclusion.}, pages = {85--94}, title = {Motivation and Learning Effects in University English Education}, volume = {4}, year = {2020}, yomi = {ソロモン, ジョシュア リー} }
