| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to examine a potential“ health education” curriculum and teaching materials for first and second grades in elementary school. There is no subject called“ health” in the Japanese curriculum at first and second grades. When students enter third grade they receive health content in their physical education class, but this is not offered in first and second grade. Health education is necessary for Japanese children. Other countries offer and some require health education. After researching the literature, curriculum and teaching materials were developed. Pilot classes were conducted in first and second grades in two schools. It was clear health education was well received by the children and is necessary. More study is needed to examine the adequate hours and organization of contents. In this study, the expected results were obtained. However, more study should be conducted to determine validity of the curricula. |
